Hellenika Long Lunch

Fifteen years after Simon Gloftis opened the doors of Hellenika at Nobby Beach, the beloved Greek restaurant is heading back to where it all began for one long, generous celebration.
On Sunday October 25, Hellenika will take over Miami Marketta once again for the Hellenika Long Lunch, marking the restaurant’s return to the laneway for the first time in almost a decade.
The afternoon marks the launch of Simon’s debut cookbook, Hellenika – an extensive collection of the Greek recipes that diners have come to love over the past 15 years, from its iconic zucchini chips and the classic baked lamb with lemony potatoes, to Simon’s favourite Corfu Bianco.
The book also documents the story of Hellenika, from its beginnings at Nobby Beach to its current home at The Calile Hotel, alongside recollections of Simon’s family history, plus photographs and memories of the original and still-current team – all of whom have been part of the culinary journey to date and remain dedicated to Hellenika’s uncompromising hospitality.
“I am so excited to bring Hellenika back to the Gold Coast to Miami Marketta for another Long Lunch,” Gloftis says. “With the release of the book, and celebrating 15 years, it seems only fitting to return to where it all began – to say thank you to our Gold Coast guests for all of their support over the years”.
“We’re bringing a Greek band, plus our chefs, team and some of my favourite Hellenika dishes, for one day only. Those who came to the last one almost ten years ago will know we don’t hold back. It’s going to be a big Greek party. We can’t wait to see you all and celebrate with you.”
